Why does Google merchant keep rejecting my website?

Topic summary

Google Merchant Center (GMC) is rejecting several Shopify stores for Misrepresentation, with dropshipping cited as a key risk factor requiring higher trust signals.

Main issues identified:

  • Missing trust elements: no business details in the footer, missing contact form, and no product availability status on product pages.
  • Use of a virtual address; guidance is to list a real, verifiable business address tied to the merchant.
  • Operating multiple similar websites can trigger Misrepresentation flags.

Suggested actions:

  • Narrow to a single niche to improve perceived trust.
  • Add full business details sitewide (footer), a working contact form, and clear availability/stock status on product pages.
  • Replace virtual addresses with a real physical address; ensure consistent, transparent policies (returns, shipping, contact phone/email).
  • Review GMC policies and guidelines shared in the thread and audit the entire site for compliance.

Additional note: One participant claimed Google tracks dropshippers’ product numbers and suggested changing them; this is unverified.

Outcome/status: No definitive resolution. Guidance provided to perform a comprehensive compliance audit; issues appear case-specific and ongoing.

Hi,

My website www.tufy.nl keeps rejected by google merchants.

I think my website meets all requirements.

I have all policies on my website and a good contact page.

What’s going wrong?

Because you are drop shipping, you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage. Google requires a higher trust factor if you are drop shipping.

For example consider focusing on 1 niche.

For example missing business details in the footer of all pages.

For example missing contact form on the contact page.

For example missing availability status on the product landing page.

These are just examples, as checking the whole site is a big task, I recommend reading:

Hey Emmanuel. My GMC is also flagged as Misrepresentation.
Is there anything noticeable you see on my store that is violating Googles policies? www.Powerlabgen.com

@SmooveMP5 for example, you are using a virtual address. Google generally does not approve this. Consider using a real address, where you the person is located.

Is that the only noticeable thing you see wrong? Everything else is fine right? All the policies are there, customer service phone number, email and contact form. Return and shipping policy. FAQ’s. Product pages are organized. I’m not sure how my website is misleading customers.

Checking a website is a big task and the example I provided was 1 example of a fundamental issue. It is recommended that you check the policies in the previous reply to find more issues.

A little bird told me today that Google already knows the product numbers of ALL DROPSHIPERS. Consider changing your product numbers.

Hello Emmanuel!

I’m facing the same Mispresentation issue from Google and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong for this shop: https://apromancsok.hu

My other shop is completely fine by default for years using google: https://aprokezek.hu

Could you please get me some advice?

Thanks!

Having multiple websites will be the main reason in your case.
