Why does it take long for new product tags to register?

I notice that when I add in tags into products, either through the bulk editor or individually, it takes quite some time before shopping will let these new tags be available for auto-populating.

This wouldn’t be of much concern, other than I am using an App for filtering that rely’s on Shopify having the new product tags in it’s database.

Sometimes it will take up to a half hour for newly created tags to become part of the Shopify database allowing the tags to be used in other apps, or even filtering within the product list page on the Shopify dashboard.

Is there a way to speed up this database integration? Logging in and out of Shopify doesn’t kick it in, so it doesn’t seem like a caching issue.

This seems like an issue with how often your filter app syncs with Shopify to get updated product data. Most apps like this have an option for you to manually trigger a sync. You could also look for an option to increase the frequency of the sync within the app.

Interesting. Shopify is the same, in that it also doesn’t sync up TAGs that were just created.

I did find the spot in the Filter App that can force a sync.
