Why does Multicolumn add 1 to total # in slider?

I have a total of 3 blocks in my multicolumn but when I bring it down to it’s carousel size, the total is out of 4?

I have tried replacing it, hardcoding it with a 3 but it gets overridden. I’ve also tried to use a math filter and it flashes to 2 instead and then replaces with 4.

Is there a way to make this more accurate?
