Why does my cart grey out after adding products?

After adding products to the cart, the cart is grayed out when clicking to view the cart or to checkout. I have found that clicking to return to the home page and then clicking the cart will allow access again. But further navigation will cause the grayed out cart again. No new apps installed. This has been an issue since around late November. Any ideas? Thank you for any help
