I have the basic Shopify plan and currently have my nearly 2-year-old store password protected. I want to give some customers the option to shop V.I.P but after I add items to my cart and try to check out, it brings me back to the checkout page instead of advancing to the payment page. How can I fix this?

I’m happy to see that you were able to get to the bottom of this. To provide some additional context, If you’re on Shopify Plus, you can get access to the checkout.liquid layout so you can make additional customizations to your checkout page.
You can use the password protection feature to restrict customer access to give only a certain amount of customers the chance to browse your shop. Are you looking for a solution that allows you to restrict the sale of your products for a certain group?
