I’ve noticed the last couple of months we haven’t been getting any sales. A customer messaged us and said your whole site is sold out? That’s when we went on the actual site and saw every item, even in stock, says sold out. What is going on?
Hi, @Muqmeen .
Are you using a third-party app to control your store’s products? Or have you recently installed any third-party apps on your store?
If you’re using a third-party product app, you can navigate to the app page on your Shopify admin and see if the app has any functionalities that control your store’s product quantities. If not however, but if you’ve recently installed a third-party app on your store, you can troubleshoot this by installing a fresh copy of a Shopify theme. To do this, navigate to Online store > Themes > Explore free themes and select a theme to add to your library. From there, click on Actions > Preview, and you can view your products to see if they will all show up as normal.
If the issues don’t persist on the fresh theme, a third-party app may be interfering with your products. If you or a developer working on your store have made any code changes recently to your theme, the newly added code may also be the cause of this issue.
If you need further help to look into this matter though, you can contact our Live Support team so that we can take a closer look at your account from our end. Due to security reasons, we aren’t able to do this via the Community Forums at this stage, but you can reach out to our Live Support team via our Help Center here. Once logged in, select a topic that best fits your query or situation. From there, you’ll be taken to a page with a list of relevant support articles, and you can scroll to the bottom of that page to select your preferred contact method with our team. Our Live Support team can then securely access your store and investigate the matter in more detail. If need be, they may also reach out to our Technical Specialists on your behalf, to further troubleshoot the situation.
Prior to this issue, how were sales going on your store?
If you haven’t already done so, it’s worth taking a closer look at your store’s analytics to see if there were other factors that contributed to the lower number of sales on your store in recent months. For example, stores tend to see a higher number of sessions and/or visitors when there’s at least one marketing campaign currently live. More visitors gives you a higher chance of sales conversion — so if you also happen to see a dip in sessions and visitor count in the last coupe of months, it may be a good idea to revisit your marketing strategy and see if you can push out a campaign that will help maintain a healthy visitor number on your store. Overall, investigating your store’s reporting and analytics will allow you to get a better insight into your store’s activities, so I highly recommend making this a routine for your business.
