Why does my homepage keep refreshing after customer login?

Hello,

Our homepage keeps refreshing AFTER a customer logs into their account. Once you login, the homepage refreshes endlessly. Can anyone help?

Is the issue happening to all of your customers, or just one of them?

If you haven’t already tested this on your end, I recommend going through the troubleshooting steps below just to see if you’ll experience the same issues:

  • Try to access your website and login to your customer account via an incognito window
  • Or, you can use your usual browser but to clear the browser’s cookies and cache
  • You can also try another browser. For example, if you’re using Safari, you can try accessing your website and logging in to your customer account on Chrome or Firefox
  • You can also try to use another device, such as your mobile or a tablet

Are you also using a third-party app to control your store’s customer accounts?

If so, you can try to disable the app’s features if it’s available to do so within the app, to see if the issue will be fixed. You can also try and install a fresh copy of a Shopify theme by going to Online store > Themes > Explore free themes and select a theme to add to your library. From there, click on Actions > Preview, and you can then test your store’s customer login page to see if you’ll be able to load your storefront as normal.

If the issues don’t persist on a fresh theme, chances are a third-party app is interfering with how your customer login page is meant to function. If you or a developer working on your store have made any code changes recently to your theme, the newly added code may also be the cause of this issue.
