Why does my new domain say it's already in use when connecting to my store?

I just bought a new domain and trying to connect to my store it keeps saying the domain name is already exist what should I do ?

If you own a domain and are receiving an error message when trying to connect it to your Shopify store, it’s possible that the domain was previously owned by another merchant and was connected to a Shopify store in the past. Even though they no longer own the domain, this domain may still be attached to a Shopify store, and this would prevent you from adding the domain to your own store.

To rectify this, please contact Shopify support so you can be authenticated and your ownership of the domain can be verified. Once this is done, our team will be able to look into this for you and free up the domain for use, if indeed this is what is causing the error.
