Why does my new website force an autofill login and how can I fix it?

I have just launched our new Shopify website, moving from woo to Shopify (today I changed the DNS so its now fully live)

However, every time I go on the website, I get this weird autofill to login. I haven’t even clicked on the USER icon in the corner to try and log in, this happens on every page, it tries to force me to use autofill to login.

How can I fix this?

With regards to your inquiry, I am not able to replicate the issue on my end. Upon visiting your website, which looks very aesthetically pleasing by the way, I was able to navigate your menu and storefront without ever getting any log in pop ups or notifications.

Are you able to expound more on what you are seeing? Perhaps a screenshot will give us a clearer idea on what you are seeing.

While we wait however, I also recommend you do the following troubleshooting steps on your end:

  • clear cache and cookies
  • go into incognito/private mode
  • try a different browser or device
  • try a different internet/wifi connection

Screenshot below. Its only if you have an account and safari tries to autofill - but there is no login on this screen so not sure why its trying to autofill

Were you able to try the troubleshooting steps in Safari? It may simply need to clear cache or cookies.

Another reason this is happening, did you make any recent changes to your store (theme/apps) before this started to happen?

If you haven’t already, I also recommend reaching out to our live support team regarding this. Once they verify your credentials, they can open up the back end of your account and investigate further. They are able to temporarily disable some apps to try to pinpoint which is causing this pop up behavior.

Tried private window and cleared cache/cookies.

The only change is moving the website from Wordpress to Shopify. When I go to the website, it tries to log-in using my Wordpress login details.

So the issue is that the website is inviting auto-fill to occur - could it be an issue with the theme?
