Why does my password fail when deactivating my store?

When i try and deactivate my store it asks me for a password

I the enter my login password i use to log into shopify but it says incorrect

Have you tried resetting your password in your Shopify admin? If not, I’ll share the steps below to do this.

Once you’ve reset your password, I recommend opening your Shopify admin in an incognito window or clearing the cache before proceeding with the closing of your store steps. Please note: When resetting a password, you must use a different password. Using the same password will cause a password error and not allow you to log in.

How to reset your password:

  • In your Shopify admin, click your username and account picture.

  • Click Manage account.

  • Click Security > Change your password.

  • The password-reset screen opens. Enter your current password and a new password.

  • Enter your new password again in the Confirm password field.

  • Click Change password.

  • Go to your Shopify login page and log in with your new password.

If you’ve forgotten your password, we also have steps to reset your forgotten password.

Lastly, if you still cannot access your store or reset your password, please visit our Recovery Link and enter your email. This will trigger an email with details about the associated stores you have listed under the email you enter.
