Why does my search for 'trousers' show unrelated products on my store?

When the search term “trousers” is used in our Shopify store, it shows unrelated products including a series of scarfs

We have double checked for the 16+ products it is showing that are not either trousers or trouser accessories -

• the PDP tags do not include ‘trousers’

• the PDP description does not include ‘trousers’

• the Search & Discovery app has no synonms or boosts for ‘trousers’

We have also tried to search for examples of this bug in Shopify Community but have found nothing as yet.

I’ve checked two of the items you don’t want to appear. They have the word “trousers” in their description.

Oh thanks for flagging my error, you are correct @noiseymur . I overstated the number of products where the problem exists. See below for the updated screengrabs with 13 products that should not appear.

Thanks again @noiseymur your comment triggered a thought when i reviewed all the products that I didnt want showing for that search - and I spotted the word ‘belt’ appeared. This caused me to track back to the Search & Discovery app where that word had been added as a synonym. So this is now SOLVED.
