I am from South Africa and am setting up my shop during my free 3-day trial. I am integrating my shop with Printful. I made the shop currency US dollars. The problem I have is when I create a product within Printful and I add it to Shopify, the profit and final price is shown in ZAR (South African rand), presumably because it is assumed I am going to sell it in South Africa. For example, a product at a cost of $22.00 marked up 30% ends up being R730.00 (ZAR) after conversion, which is understandable when viewed in South Africa and is sold here. However, when I open the product on Shopify, it is priced at $730.00. Dollars instead of Rand. $730.00 instead of $29.00. How can this be corrected? I need to master this before I can sign up for Shopify.
I had a look at setting up local pricing because I thought that that might solve the problem and found the below instructions, but those checkboxes and options doesn’t show. Please help me. Regards, Henry.
Steps:1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Markets.
-
Next to the name of the market, click Manage.
-
Next to Currency and pricing, click Manage.
-
In the Pricing section, check Show prices to customers in their local currency.
-
If you want to turn off local currencies, uncheck Show prices to customers in their local currency. When local currencies are turned off, all customers in that market will see prices in that market’s base currency.
-
Click Save.
