Hi,
The Canary island is part of EU but not in the VAT agreement. Unfortunately you can’t make tax overrides since Shopify sees The Canar Islands as Spain.
Therefore I had to an elk an order and thought I could use “draft order” and do the tax as a discount and check “don’t charge taxes”. All well so far.
I also removed shipping since I am running a “free shipping” campaign.
when I sent the draft order to the customer the total was approx 150 Eur. But when the customer opened and paid the draft order the standard shipping was added and the total he has paid is approx 165 Eur.
Why was the shipping re-added to the invoice when the invoice I see as sent was without?
this looks really unprofessional on my part.
any tips?
Hi @fluga_seller , I have used draft order with free shipping for customer before, I will detail my steps below, hope this can help you.
On your draft order, click “Edit Shipping”, then select “Custom”, and input “0.00” for the shipping to make it free shipping.
To ensure the customer does not pay for shipping, you can preview the checkout page link first (that will be sent to customer).
You can preview the checkout page link by clicking “Send Invoice” > “Review Invoice”. Then right click on the “Complete your purchase” button, then select “open in new tab”.
You should see the checkout page has no shipping options, and customer is not able to choose shipping. Customer only can input their payment detail.
Once you confirm the checkout page is correct, then you can proceed to send the invoice to customer.
hi,
thanks for the input. That is exaclty what I did, and the draft order has no shipping on it.
However, the order then came with standard shipping added…
