Why does Shopify display plan prices in USD for Canadians?

I live in Canada and I know Shopify is Canadian as well. When I went to Shopify.ca and clicked on Pricing I was shown USD amounts for each plan rather than CDN.

This feels dirty and untrustworthy. It feels like Shopify is trying to scam their Canadian folk by showing cheaper, almost half priced, USD plan prices.

Please fix this so every other Canadian that checks this price is not disillusioned into thinking they are going to be paying the low low price of the almighty USD.

Thank you.

100% agreed, this is causing confusion with our Canadian customers. How do we change settings to display CDN for Canadians?

Thank you!

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and sharing this feedback.

While I can completely understand the impact of this, you are able to view our plans and pricing in Canadian dollars. To do so, you can head over to our Pricing Page and scroll to the very bottom to adjust the country/currency. For reference, I’ve shared a screenshot below of our available plans in CAD.

As for billing, Shopify charges for services in USD. This however, can be adjusted by heading to ‘Settings > Billing’ from within the Shopify admin. We have a great guide available here that outlines steps on how you can complete this change.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
