We have again today been reminded of Shopify’s arbitrary limitation on having more than one active automatic discount.
Is it possible to get an honest explanation from Shopify as to why they see the need to impose this completely artificial limitation?
It is clearly not a technical issue - apps offer it, other platforms offer it.
It’s similar to the local pickup feature, which was absent for years until a global pandemic seems to have forced Shopify’s hand in that area.
I wonder what it will take to get a simple feature like this added to the basic platform?
The reason has to be that Shopify does not want to upset their app developers. I get it, actually, it’s a rational business position.
Just be honest about it.
