Why does Shopify override custom SKUs from Lightspeed?

We use Lightspeed to create our items and then they move into Shopify, which is our POS. Lately, when we enter a custom SKU in Lightspeed, Shopify has been overriding that custom SKU with their own #. We can go back in to Shopify and enter our custom SKU again, but that’s more work. Why is this happening and how can we fix it to stop it from happening?

When you said you moved into Shopify from Lightspeed POS, do you mean that you import the products in using CSV file?

We use Accumula to assist with this. I have checked with them and they said it’s a Shopify issue.

No, we use Accumula to move things from Lightspeed to Shopify. Accumula
said that this isn’t something that they cause to happen, it’s a Shopify
issue.
