Why doesn't my favicon appear in Google search results?

I added a favicon image in “theme settings - logo- favicon”. It appear into the bar but doesn’t show up in google search, did i do something wrong?

If you open your store and see a favicon appear in the browser task, it means you are done and needs to wait for Google index it before it appears in Google search result

Hey Marino,

It can take a while for the favicon to start showing on Google – it definitely doesn’t happen immediately. I think it took my last site about 5 weeks for the favicon to start showing on Google searches.

Here’s Google’s official statement on favicons:

The favicon URL must be stable (don’t change the URL frequently). Google won’t show any favicon that it deems inappropriate, including bleepography or hate symbols (for example, swastikas). If this type of imagery is discovered within a favicon, Google replaces it with a default icon.

… so as long as your favicon isn’t inappropriate, you just need to wait a while, and eventually it should show up. You can also try resubmitting your sitemap to potentially speed up this process, but no matter what you do, it won’t update immediately.

[ok, it’s an old thread, but …]
Probably I have a more complicated problem, I see a favicon in the taskbar of every browser ma still not having the favicon in the search results. I completed my site (and never changed URL) since 1 year ago, still having this problem.
Any other suggestion?
