I was shocked to find that my Basic Plan has more than doubled from £26 GBP to £53 GBP since last October!! Has anyone else experienced this? And with no prior warning/ explanation from Shopify!

Thank you for reaching out about this. All existing merchants would have been sent an email to their account owner email address and also provided a banner in their store admin with these details. This would have been on January 24.
Merchants that were on our platform before the price increase will have until April 23, 2023 to change their plan or sign up for annual to receive the lower price.
Please note that if you have any customizations to your store plan, like carrier calculated shipping, you will want to connect with our live support team for help in reviewing what changes might happen if you update your plan yourself.
