What happened to the live view map? It used to show the live visitors and then the orders in different color (like a firework type thing only when the order happened) but now it just shows past orders for the rest of the day even if the order happened hours ago. Is there a way to fix this? To where it showed the real live visitors in each country/state rather than just sales from hours ago as purple?

This change to the live view was made a number of months ago. The changes were made to help to make the map more accurate for you. There is sometimes a discrepancy between ‘visitors right now’ and the number of markers on the map - This is because the markers represent initiated sessions (the beginning of a session) as opposed to current visitors. If you would like to see a breakdown of where their visitors are coming from, you can use the /admin/reports/sessions_by_location report i.e STORENAME.myshopify.com/admin/reports/sessions_by_location.
I want to share this help doc with you that walks through all the different metrics you can access via this map, and how to find them. One of the metrics is “Visitors right now” which I believe is what you are looking for - it shows the Number of visitors who have been active on your online store in the past 5 minutes.
