I recently cleared my browsing history and cache, then logged out of my Shopify account. Now, when I try to log back in, I’m not receiving the authentication code on my phone.
As a result, I’m unable to access my account. Could you please help me resolve this issue and regain access to my Shopify account?
I’ve run into this exact thing myself, Shopify’s SMS code delivery glitches out sometimes, it’s a known issue on their side, not anything you did. Clearing your cache just logged you out of a trusted session, so now it’s forcing a fresh code that isn’t coming through.
A few things that usually get you back in: on the code screen look for a “Try another way” or “Get a new code” link and request a fresh one, since it often works on the second or third try, and give it a few minutes because the text can land late.
And if you ever saved backup recovery codes or set up an authenticator app when you turned on two factor, use one of those instead, that skips the SMS problem entirely. If none of that works, the proper route is Shopify’s account recovery, on the login screen use the “Can’t access your authentication device” link to start a recovery request and verify your identity.
Just one safety note, only use that link on Shopify’s real login page, don’t Google a “Shopify support number,” because those are scams that prey on locked out owners.
Hope that helps! If it did, a Like and Marking it as Solution goes a long way and helps others find the fix faster too.
Hey @MNSRAO .
Really common issue and easy to fix.
First, check if you saved any backup codes when you set up two factor authentication, as these will let you straight in.
If not, contact Shopify Support at help.shopify.com and tell them you cannot receive your authentication code. They will verify your identity and get you back in quickly.
