Why is a refund deposited then removed from my account?

If a return is requested and refund is done all on the same day, I ask why is money deposited into my account?

The money was collected, order fulfilled and restocked and refund listed on the order, all on the same day.

This is my first refund request and I dont know what to expect.

Does that mean the money deposited into my bank account will then be removed a few days on?

Some guidance from an experienced shopify person would be appreciated.

When an order is placed and refunded on the same day, it is uncommon though not impossible for a payout to occur between the time the order was placed and refunded.

Typically, a refund will be deducted from the next available payout.
