Why is Facebook failing to connect with my online store?

I have been trying to connect my Facebook and Instagram account to my shopify store for months now. I’ve uninstalled it plenty of times, then reinstalled it again.

It will connect my Facebook account but then it comes up with an error message saying; “this Facebook Page or Instagram account can’t be selected because it’s linked to a shop that’s still in review or doesn’t comply with our seller policies. You can try again after you review and resolve Business Support Home Issues”.

I don’t understand what it means or what I’m supposed to do to solve this. It’s becoming more hassle than it’s worth…

I have disconnected and reconnected it so many times for it to come up with the same error message. I’m struggling to find the business manager settings within facebook.

After doing a bit of digging on my end, this step in the onboarding process is fully supported by Facebook (Meta). I recommend getting in touch with their support team to assist you with connecting these accounts.

To speed up the process, I’ve shared the steps below to contact their support team.

  • From your Shopify admin, head to your Facebook and Instagram channel.
  • Select Get Support as this will direct you to a Request Submission form in the admin.
  • Choose the topic: Accounts, connections and permissions.
  • You’ll then be prompted to log into your Facebook account.
  • Outline your issue in the submission box, and a chat or email option will appear for you to select and sent to the Meta Support team.
