Why is my basic package still on pause and build?

I purchased the basic package, but it still is on pause and build

To confirm, you purchased the Basic Shopify Plan and you’ve noticed your store is now on the Pause and Build Plan? For better visibility, could you share a screenshot of the Settings > Plan section so we can take a look at your selected plan?

The Pause and Build plan allows your store to run at a reduced cost of $14 USD or less per month. You’re able to access your Shopify admin and edit your products but your checkout is disabled. This means that customers can review your products, but they can’t purchase them.

While you’re on the Pause and Build plan, you can do the following:

  • Access your Shopify admin.
  • Access basic reports about your site’s performance.
  • View your online storefront.

I would like to advise that your store must be on an active plan with the first invoice paid before the Pause and Build plan option is available. If by chance you selected the Pause and Build plan on your store, you can reopen your store afterwards. I’ll share the steps below.

Reopen your store after you pause and build:

  • Log in to your store as the store owner.

  • From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.

  • Click Pick a plan, and then click Choose plan for the plan that you want.

  • Carefully review the plan details, and then click Start plan.

  • After you select a plan, you can start selling again.

We are on the PAUSE AND BUILD plan for a client project while trying to use Shopify Email to engage potential customers but it looks like a merchants can draft emails and campaigns but cannot send or schedule those emails. No documentation from Shopify that I can find clarifying this.

While you’re on the Pause and Build plan, you’re able to access your admin, basic reports, store performance and your storefront. The Pause and Build plan does not allow you to utilize Shopify Email, abandoned cart recovery, online store checkout etc.

I’ve gone ahead and contacted the appropriate team to see if the information regarding Shopify Email can be included in our Pausing or deactivating your store help center resource for further context and clarification.
