Why is my checkout page title showing 'paiement' instead of 'payment'?

My entire website is in English and the only default language is English. The problem is that at checkout the page title that appears in the browser window says “paiement” instead of “payment”. Please I have to solve this

Thank you for the link and the screenshot. It appears that you were able to resolve this issue on your own as I am seeing “Checkout -” now on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Hello @danielcorrea ,

There is a small coding required to fix it. Please, let me know if you need assistance.

Best regards,
Anastasia

yes please, I would apprecate it

Hi,

I am seeing the same. Brand new Store, I’m testing out the site and my tab says Paiement. I am based in the UK and I am testing purchases from the UK and US, not from Europe.

Looks like a bug to me if it’s defaulting to French - and not working as designed. Could you please share the workaround with me as well and will this be logged as a ticket?

Thank you

Thank you!

Happening to me too, shopify are trying to fix the problem apparently. Mine translates do loads of different languages randomly and even a different store name, which actually exists as a business in Scotland.

This is a VERY serious problem that needs to be fixed immediately, it’s harming sales as people abandon once they see a different language. Shopify told me this is a problem since the 1 page checkout was adopted.

Hi @Shay

We are also experiencing this error. We can remove the page name variable from the language variables which solves the immediate problem for us but can this be escalated to the checkout team so a fix can be made.

Is there a fix to this? Experiencing the same problem and it looks incredibly bad and results in customer’s losing trust.

There is no a fix, it’s not the problem solved but it will stop any translating from happening:

Follow steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Checkout > Scroll Down > Click “Manage Checkout language”

  2. Go to “Checkout & system” tab > Set “Page Title” to your desired title.

I did mine as ‘Checkout’ and no translating is happening anymore. The problem is fixed
