Why is my Ella theme store loading too slowly?

Hi there, my Shopify store speed is too slow, I’m using Ella theme and the page is taking too long to load the content.
https://7c625b.myshopify.com/ this is the URL for my website, Thanks.

To improve the speed, I suggest optimizing your website by compressing images, minimizing the use of external scripts, and enabling caching. Additionally, you can consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to distribute your website’s content across multiple servers.

Can .myshopify domain be a factor for slow speed?

No it would not be a major factor. If your store has too many apps it may not score high in test results. The best way to ensure speed is to build your store on a very light theme stack and then add functionality by adding apps that do not impact speed. If you are not in a position to easily rebuild your store, you may consider working with a developer to make those decisions for you. (in fact you can contact us)

We also created an app called Pasilobus Turbo, which will not improve speed score but it will make your store feel very fast by enabling background prefetching on your store. Background prefetch is recommended for all stores whether it is fast or slow. You can start installing the app and see how much difference it does make.

Hello @infinitixweb !

I just had a look through your website, but considering the amount of content that is there, I found the speed to be quite reasonable

When we are looking at site speed as a whole, we take into consideration several factors, some of which can be controlled, and others that cannot.

For example, product images - this is what took the longest to load for me (3 sec longer than the rest of the content). If the images are high quality large files, then it is completely normal to experience slower loading times. If you’re finding that the image load times are affecting the user experience negatively, then you may need to consider optimizing the images. I would recommend trying an app like LoyaltyHarbour Image Optimizer to do this.

Examples of factors that cannot be controlled include the customer’s device, their network connection and their location - which can all contribute to a slower site speed.

I have a full guide on this for you in our help doc on improving your site speed here.

You mentioned that you find some parts of it difficult to understand, so in that case I would recommend looking into this with a Shopify Expert.

Experts are freelancers that charge their rates based on the work that they do, but they can help you further investigate some factors that you may not be fully comfortable looking into yourself, such as diving into the code of your theme.

I understand that you’re finding the speed to be less than adequate on your end, - could you please specify some of the things that you’re seeing?

I think of the product images as well but also a third-party gallery app on section that takes a lot of time to load. Many thanks for your tips and app recommendation.

reduce the amount of elements and sections on each page. this is the easiest way to improve your speed
