Hi, I recently tried connecting my GoDaddy domain to my Shopify store, however it first seemed to reject it and now it says “SSL Pending.” Do I need to do anything else? What’s happening to the domain connection?
Assuming you “connected” your domain name and didn’t actually “transfer” the domain, it can take up to 48 hours for all the DNS changes to occur. If your domain already had SSL provided by GoDaddy, it can take a while for SSL to change around with the DNS records.
I had this same message on one of the domains I connected and it went away on it’s own after about 24 hours. Figuring it just took that long for DNS to propagate out all the changes and realign with the new site. I didn’t have to do anything for the SSL to change/connect.
If it’s been more than 48 hours, you might need to contact Shopify and see if there is a problem with the certificate itself.
