In June 2022 I can see my product numbers showing in Google merchant centre has halved only picked up as sales had dropped off. I have not changed any settings, however it would suggest that something has changed. I have checked all settings and everything appears ok.

If you are using the free app built by Shopify, then this app has historically never worked when automatic updates are enabled in Google Merchant Center (years).
As of June 2022 Google are now automatically enabled this feature, which means the free app does not work correctly.
The funny thing is that this issue only exists in the free app.
If for example you use an app such as: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds
Then you will not have that issue.
There are lots of other issues in the free app, my recommendation, go with a paid app that is a lot better with great support.
Thanks for your reply. I find $25 per month a little excessive. Hopefully the shopify developers will resolve the issue before it costs too much in lost sales.
