Why is my Meta Pixel not recognized by Instagram and Facebook integration?

Topic summary

Users are experiencing issues connecting their Meta Pixel to Shopify’s Facebook and Instagram integration. The pixel appears active on their website and in Meta Business Manager, but doesn’t show up in Shopify’s integration interface when attempting to sync product catalogs.

Key Problem:

  • Existing Meta Pixels (managed by digital marketing agencies) are not being recognized by Shopify’s integration system
  • Multiple users report having pixels in their Business Manager that don’t appear in Shopify’s interface
  • One user has 3 pixels in Business Manager with none displaying in Shopify

Attempted Solutions:

  • Gaining full admin access to the pixel
  • Following Shopify’s official documentation
  • Generating new pixels through Shopify’s integration (which creates pixels that don’t appear in Facebook)

Current Status:
The issue remains unresolved. Users report that Shopify support has been unable to provide a solution. The pixels continue running marketing campaigns successfully, but the integration disconnect prevents proper catalog syncing between platforms. Multiple merchants are seeking workarounds or confirmation if others have resolved this problem.

Hi,

As the title says, I try to connect our Meta Pixel in order to connect our catalog between Instagram and Shopify. However, it doesn’t recognize our Facebook Pixel. You can see our Pixel ID on the website and what it found in Shopify while integrating. I have tried everything but it’s not shown up there. Normally the Pixel under control our Digital Marketing agency. Though, they gave me an access fully control still doesn’t come up. Also, Adblocker is disabled.

Our current Pixel ending with 74 but it’s not there.

Can we please troubleshoot together?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks in advance,

Hey

Just wanted to see if you have followed this document yet?

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your reply.

The Pixel had already been added before I even started working here. So I don’t know which way did they follow. What can I do in the current situation? Do you have any solution because whatever I tried it didn’t work at all..

We’re any marketing campaigns run with that Pixel?

Yes

Ok, so I would pursue continuing using that Pixel, so the data isn’t lost.

Yes, as it should be but the problem is this pixel is not shown in the integration page..

Hello, we have the same Issue. Did you solve it in the meantime?

This is so sad. Shopify support has no idea how to solve this issue, they are clueless. What kind of service is this? I have 3 pixels on my BM and NONE of them is showing on Shopify’s interface.

The only option available is to generate a new pixel from Shopify’s integration, but then that pixel ID does not show up on Facebook :joy:

If anyone got around this, please let us know, as Shopify themselves have no idea about how to solve this.
