Why is my online store name already in use when restarting?

I created a shopify store over a year ago. I have two e-mail account for that company. I logged in to start the store back up and it is not linked to either of my e-mail addresses (or any of my e-mails) and keeps telling me that a store with that name already exists. I highly doubt someone else has the same store name and I am just a loof and can’t remember the e-mail address associated. However every time I click on contact Shopify because I can’t find my answer it just loops me back to the same page I started at with no help at all.

I can’t find an e-mail address or a phone number that actually works.

PLEASE HELP!!

Hi @kusagaglobal

I understand you are trying to recover a store account you created sometime back and are also having issues contacting our live support.

I can definitely assist with both those things!

For the store URL, there is a possibility that the store account was removed from our servers. We’ve changed our policies since the beginning of Covid-19 and have extended the length of time we would maintain a store’s data without access, but it is a possibility this has happened.

If you know what the store URL should be, please feel free to share it here and I can check to see if it is an active store account.

Once a store is removed, the URL for it is unique and can’t be reused later. You would have to create a new store with a new name for your unique Shopify URL.

For contacting our live support, I understand you are having issues getting through to our live channels directly. I’ll include the steps for this, please let me know what stage you are able to get to. To contact our live support please follow this link: Shopify Help Center - Contact Support, sign into your store account, search for your issue and use the contact support button at the bottom of the search results to see all our live support options. If you open a help topic and use the contact support button from within the topic itself, it will start the support process over again.
