Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my situation. My website has a good amount of traffic but there seems to be issues surrounding customers reaching ‘checkout’ but never converting.
www.generationaudio.co.uk
This being abandoned for whatever reason. I know this is an issue with a lot of sites but my conversion rate is 0% and a little worrying to say the least.
I have added unique automated abandoned emails with discount codes inside to try and help but to no avail. Also I have tried product popups with discounts which have not worked either.
I have many payment options including PayPal setup but it seems the customer always gets to the ‘reached checkout’ stage but never any further.
Is very frustrating and not sure what to do as my business wont last much longer like this.
Thanks in advance
Scott
Hi
I’m sorry about your site conversion, you have good amount of traffic. Do you traffic alone doesn’t guarantee you sales…
I have went through your store down to your checkout, I can see you have good payments method in your checkout…
I believe there are lot of changes that needs to be done on your site…
I don’t know if I show you the best and latest strategy in marketing your store would you go for it?
Hey, @Gen-Audio .
Thanks for bringing this to our Community forum and sharing your experience. Gaining traffic to your store is a great accomplishment. Now, you can focus on increasing sales! I’m happy to provide some suggestions.
As I was taking a look at your checkout, I noticed that the shipping charges don’t appear. Have you set up your shipping rates? Regardless if you’re planning on having free shipping rates, it’s important to set that up accordingly so that customers aren’t left wondering what the shipping charge will be.
In the example on the left (test store), you would enter your details, and then shipping charges are displayed on the following page as seen here. If that’s a decision you’ve made, I’d love to hear more about your thought process around it.
As you mentioned, viewing your abandoned carts can be a great way to gain more insight into patterns that may suggest why your customers aren’t completing the order. I love the tool Replay Site Recorder & Surveys. You can see how your customers navigate and interact with your store, including what items they look at. Doing this could help you find (and fix) potential areas viewers may be getting stuck and help reduce the number of abandoned carts on your site.
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you so that we can continue to work on this together!
Hi @Luna_1
My store sells ‘digital’, download files only. So no shipping fees are applicable as they are delivered online direct at sale and sent to email address the customer uses.
Thanks for you reply
Hi
I can’t really afford it tbh as the store is making nothing.
Ok,
How about this, I can help you with the store marketing just in basic. Then once you make sale you can go ahead with it in full
Hey, @Gen-Audio .
Thanks for getting back to me with that additional context! That makes total sense. I wonder if it may be worth including how the product will be delivered (to the customer’s email directly after purchase or on the checkout page) for example. That way, the customer is very clear about how they will receive their purchase.
I understand that your product is directly targeted at a certain type of customer. Where are you currently marketing your website? Do you use any other tools to track visitors, sessions, and other customer behavior in your store? For example, a common tool amongst our merchants is Google Analytics. We have a great document that you can check out for Setting up Google Analytics here.
If you have any questions about these suggestions, please let me know.
I believe one of the basic things you need to do right now is set up a Revenue Funnel…
You mentioned that they got to your checkout and at the end, they end up not going through with the payment, do you know that some people might have been distracted by something or the other, either way, they end up forgetting about your product.
But once we include this revenue funnel to your store, this way we can trigger a message that can be sent to that person just to remind them about that product they added to the cart, truth be told, he might end up coming for the product.
Hi @Luna_1
Yes this is outlined at checkout that this is a ‘digital download’.
It is a very big market but yes it is a certain type of customer, musicians, producers etc
I have payed for marketing on facebook in the past, but have accounts across all social media site. But I think marketing is my weakness as I don’t know where else I can advertise any different to what I have already been doing.
I only use the analytics that come with Shopify to be honest, but think I set up Google analytics a while back so will go try and login to that.
Thank you
@twjcbs
That will definitely help. But I do have a custom abandoned email setup which gets sent direct to the customers email to remind them about their basket
Well, you cannot compare a custom abandon cart setup to that of a revenue funnel, this will be done with a revenue funnel app…
what do you think about this…
There is a post on our blog about customers resigning from purchases. I recommend reading.
