Why is my payment declined due to lack of 3D secure OTP?

Hi. I’ve tried to make a payment to a retailer using your system but the payment has come back as declined. I’m based in the UK and my bank has said that there’s new legislation, going live today 14th March 2022, that requires all online transactions to generate an OTP request of the customer’s bank. They’ve also confirmed that the payments were declined because Shopify/retailer,s system didn’t initiate the OTP.

Can you tell me whether you have any plans to change your systems to accommodate UK customers and this new legislation? And if there any timescales for doing so?

Hi, I ended up having to get a family member to use a credit card from another bank. Never found out what the issue was but it didn’t like either my CC or DC. Can only assume that issue was specific to my bank, not that I could get anywhere with them…
