Why is my payout not displaying and why do I have a negative balance?

Hello,

I sold an item on the 5th of October and it was showing that X amount will be added to your Oct 10, 2022 payout. When I go to payouts the last payout is in September and nothing for October. I also see in the Payouts section that I have a negative balance. Why I have no payouts and why is there a negative balance? Is this for a previous refund possible?

Welcome to the Shopify community and thanks for sharing your question here.

For the order placed on October 5th, could you click directly into that order to view the order timeline? This can help us identify what payment gateway it was processed through. If it was processed through Shopify Payments, it should appear in your Payouts section. If it was placed through Paypal for example, it will not display in your upcoming Payouts. You can find more information on our Getting Paid with Shopify Payments resource for how you receive funds through different gateways.

In regards to the negative balance, this is commonly found if a refund has been processed without enough of a positive balance to cover the debited funds. This negative balance will remain on the account until enough sales are made to cover the balance.

In order to be able to look into your Payouts section specifically, you’ll need to create a support request through the Shopify Help Center. The reason is we’ll need to authenticate your account to provide you with account-specific support.
