I recently sold my stores (3 stores under the same brand - one for 3 main countries we sold in).
The new buyer has added their credit card details for Shopify billing, but for some scary reason, my paypal remains there as a billing method. I DO NOT EVEN OWN THIS STORE AND HAVE NOT AUTHORISED THIS TO REMAIN THERE.
The new buyer has asked shopify suport to remove it, or at least allow her to replace it with her own, and I have also requested the same, and the support staff keep saying they will escalate it and NOTHING GETS DONE. But of course, what do you expect with Shopify Support?
I have been a Shopify user for many years and also Big Commerce, and never have i seen such nonchalance about illegal negligence in my life.
This is a warning to everyone out there…you have ZERO control over your billing methods in Shopify. You can’t even delete one if you have a few there. You have to replace it. In my case, it is not even allowing myself of the new owner to replace my details with theirs.
THIS IS ILLEGAL AND IF THIS IS NOT FIXED, I WILL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER. My paypal account is being held illegally by shopify for a store I have nothing to do with anymore.
