Hello, our shop offers a lot of variants for custom wedding rings. We’re working on adding updated images to our products and the import only partially works.
Every product has multiple variants, and for each variant option we have three images. If there’s a domed ring and we offer it in three metals the three options should all display 3 different angles of the product in said metal, 9 images total for the product.
On import,
- Shopify successfully updates the product without communicating any errors to me
- All of the first images for all of the variants are imported, but the import fails to ingest the additional two images for about half of the variants
- After the first failure, when I export and reimport the single product without any communicated errors, it will accept the additional two images for one variant but not for all of the remaining variants that are still missing their two additional images. I.E. if the first upload successfully loaded ten out of 20 variants with all three images, I would have to export, update, and import the product spreadsheet 10 additional times to complete the task for one product and all the variants to have their three images.
The variant it stops importing at seems random, and doesn’t appear to correspond to any specific line or missing bit of info in the spreadsheet. Any ideas are appreciated!
