Why is my shipping zone name showing at checkout with no charge?

Hello,

I created a shipping zone (named it Local Delivery) for just Australia - NSW and added my rates but how come the shipping zone name is showing at the check out with no charge? It says the shipping zone will NOT show at checkout.

How can I get rid of “shipping zone: local delivery”?

EDIT: I had “local delivery” on and coincidently I named the shipping zone the same thing. lol

As you may have already realized, the Local delivery option showing on the shipping page of your checkout is actually the built-in local delivery feature that you can enable in your admin. You can rest assured that the shipping zone name doesn’t appear at the checkout. The shipping zone you created is coincidentally just labeled the same as the local delivery feature, as you have mentioned, but the one you are seeing is not the shipping zone.

I recommend using the local delivery feature to offer local delivery to your customers in NSW as it creates a better experience for them. It’s easily differentiated from shipping rates and it also sends notifications that are designed for local delivery. The only limitation with this is that while it’s possible to create conditional pricing based on order price, it’s not possible to create them based on delivery time. I see this is something you have set up manually as shipping rates. Nonetheless, this feature gives a more intuitive and straightforward experience so the pros may outweigh the con. Additionally, I see on your screenshot that you also offer pickup. This is also another feature that we have built into our platform. Like the local delivery feature, it provides a better experience to customers as it doesn’t appear as a shipping rate on the shipping page, and it also sends specialized notifications and pickup instructions to them.
