Hi,
We started having major issues with the Shopify Analytics, and were wondering if anybody else was experiencing the same. Basically the “sessions” is completely wrong and the conversion-rate is not correct either. They are waaaay too low.
It started on thursday, and the numbers seems to match the numbers in Facebook Ad Manager. But perhaps those figures come from the same place?
We’ve look at other apps/system that we use, where the stats are very different.
Let’s take Friday as an example:
-
Klaviyo popup was shown to 98 people
-
Google Analytics 4 says there were 173 visitors
-
We had 3 orders
-
But Shopify says that there were 12 visitors the whole day, 0 orders under “conversions”, 0 visitors in the hours where 2 of the purchases were made.
We normally have around 200 visitors each day.
When I look in our Facebook ad’s it looks like it only sent approx 10 people over to the website, where the normal numbers are 150+. So in the beginning I thought something was wrong with the ads, but we’ve checked everything. Even asked friends to click them when they see them, which they have done. But Shopify Analytics says that there were no visitors at the times, when they visited from the ads.
So it basically looks like Shopify Analytics can’t see that there are visitors. And somehow this data is feed to Facebook. It started on Thursday, and we had changed nothing. The ads that were running had been running for over a week with click-prices of around 0.15-0.25$. On thursday they went up to 7-9$. But I simply think that’s because somehow the visitors aren’t tracked properly. So facebook thinks “10$ has been spent, but only 1 has visited = 10$ clickprice”.
Does this ring a bell for anybody? I’ve been in the supportchat with Shopify two times today. They can see that the problem is there, but still say that there isn’t a problem… Terrible frustrating ![]()
Best,
Mads
