Why is my site appearing in search results in India?

Hi!

I have this website that is e-commerce “planetjunior.pk”. My worry is that I don’t want it to appear to users in India or any other country. Because I have got some orders from India but I don’t operate and also most of my traffic is coming from india.

Why is my site being there? I even have .pk in my URL. Is there anyway to block or tell google?

The international targeting feature is no longer supported in search console. What should I do?

Hi there, @planetjuniorseo !

If you’re looking to exclude a given region or regions from using your store you can look into the selection of geo-blocker apps available here in our app store.

Take a look at a few of those options and be sure to reach out to their developers with any specific queries you have about their use.

If you don’t wish to ship orders to a given region (or indeed anywhere outside of your own country) you can simply restrict this in terms of your Shipping Zones.

This could mean that you only wish to create a shipping zone that covers Pakistan, but not India for example.

If there is no shipping zone present for your store that covers India, then customers from there would be unable to complete checkout with their orders.

I want to tell google to not show my site in that country when users search. I don’t want to disable my site completely for those users. Is there anyway to change search results ?

Hi again, @planetjuniorseo !

Thanks for getting back to me here to clarify your request.

This wouldn’t be something we can help out with from here in Shopify, so I’d try checking Google’s support resources here instead.

All the best!
