Why is my site getting traffic but not converting to sales?

Hi there! My site www.zaraxzoe.com has been getting a lot of traffic as of recently and has not been converting into sales. I was recommended to run ads but I would want to make sure the traffic I do get organically is able to convert first. Any suggestions?

Hi @riwilliams

  • The header is too big in height - you should crop the logo and remove unnecessary vertical whitespace.
  • There is very little contrast between the text and the first banner image on your homepage, which hurts accessibility and makes it very difficult to read the text.

As for the product page, it’s missing a lot of conversion elements, such as:

  • value proposition
  • benefit-driven statements
  • social proof - there are no reviews or testimonials. You need to install a review app and start collecting reviews.
  • trust and credibility - add trust seals and payment icons under the call-to-action
  • strong call-to-action - change the text and background-color of the add to cart as it doesn’t stand out.
  • urgency and scarcity
  • three-step journey

I wanted to also share some general tips on traffic and conversion with you here that you might find useful.

We would usually advise merchants to work on getting more traffic to their store first, so that you have solid daily visitor numbers.

Once you have done so, you can look into ways to increase your conversion rate optimisation for your store.

One way to do so, mentioned above, is to look at using a call to action to guide your customers through to purchase.

Consider the customer experience in your store and how you might use this to get your visitors converting into spenders.
