Why is my theme watch not updating on my local PC?

Hi,

I am currently creating a new theme on my local pc and connected to the online theme site, but theme watch is no updating it.

Please help.

There could be multiple reasons. Some of the reasons I’ve got on the back of my head are:

  1. If you’re watching the current live theme, I don’t think it will update unless you add the flag --allow-live on your command. The command would then be “theme watch --allow-live” assuming you already have a config file (config.yaml).

  2. You might be making changes on a different theme instead of the one you’re expecting changes from. Please verify the theme ID you’re currently using.

  3. I’m not very certain on this but, you could be making changes on a file that “theme watch” is not accounting for-- like files that are not part of Shopify themes’ structure.

@Gulayo that worked, however, I am making a new theme again and run this command, but it doesn’t seem to complete. Please help.

Hope you’ve made considerable progress from what you had initially. Did you check the theme read/write access for this, too? You could’ve missed it again.

If that’s not the case, please verify if your password is correct. That’s all I can assume with what we have, unfortunately. Wish there was a more verbose message.
