Why is my Turkish address not approved for Stripe or Shopify payments?

Topic summary

A UK-registered company owner residing in Turkey is unable to activate Stripe or Shopify Payments due to their Turkish address being rejected, despite targeting only international markets (UK, US, and other foreign countries) rather than Turkey.

Key Issues:

  • Stripe payment option is not visible or selectable in their Shopify setup
  • Shopify Payments rejects the Turkish residential address
  • Over $1,000 invested in the site, which currently cannot process payments
  • Multiple support tickets submitted without resolution

Current Status:

  • The issue remains unresolved
  • One response suggests using an alternative Stripe integration solution with links to resources, but no official resolution has been provided

The core problem appears to be geographic restrictions based on the owner’s residential address conflicting with their UK business registration.

Hello,

I established my company in the UK, I am a resident of Turkey. I have my Paypal and Stripe. I am targeting the UK, the US, and other foreign countries, I am not targeting Turkey. I want to use Stripe or Shopify payments because Stripe cannot be seen and selected, but my Turkish address is not approved for to use Shopify payments. I do not understand the logic behind this. It does not make any sense. I spent more than 1.000 USD and now my site cannot accept any payment. I opened too many support tickets but nothing happened.

Could you please help to resolve my problem?

Regards

Hobigo
