Topic summary
Website’s Shopify speed score is 33. Owner notes desktop performance is good, but mobile speed is poor and seeks help pinpointing causes.
Key guidance shared:
- Shopify support cites common causes: too many apps loading, heavy theme customizations increasing file sizes, large/unoptimized images and videos, and end‑user device/network limits. They link to speed optimization docs, theme support (especially for free themes), and suggest considering a Shopify Expert.
- A page builder rep adds contributors: heavy components (slideshows, tabs, accordions), deep element nesting, abundant media, custom code (CSS/JS/Liquid/HTML), many products rendered per page, and app scripts injected globally across all pages. Hosting/server and visitor network/device also matter.
Actionable next steps (mobile-focused):
- Audit mobile pages for heavy components and deep DOM nesting; simplify layout.
- Compress/resize images, minimize GIFs/videos, and limit products per page.
- Remove unused apps, defer or conditionally load nonessential scripts.
- Review/trim custom code and leverage Shopify’s speed guide/theme support; consider hiring an expert.
Status: No specific fix identified yet; investigation remains open.
Hi @harrygoat1218 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with improving your site speed, to ensure this gets resolved.
To get started, I’ve gone ahead and made a couple suggestions that may help. There are 4 main reasons customers will experience slow loading times including:
- Too many apps trying to load at one time: The more apps that are running at once, the longer the loading times will be. Determine if you really need all those apps and If you’re not using them at all, then you should remove them.
- Theme customizations: When you edit or customize themes, file sizes can increase and affect your store speed. If you have a heavily customized theme, this may be something to take into consideration.
- Image sizes: The larger the image size and the more videos and slideshows you display, the longer it will take to load. We also have a great blog article with 10 Must Know Image Optimization Tips.
- The end-user/customer browser, device, and internet connection: This is something you won’t have control over of course, but it is good to keep in mind.
Additionally, I recommend checking out our Improving Your Online Speed Score document as it touches on a few more tips and suggestions. If you are using a Free Shopify Theme, we may be able to investigate further to provide basic performance improvements. You can learn more about the support available, in our Support For Themes document.
You may also consider hiring a Shopify Expert. They are trusted third-party agencies and freelancers that work to help improve your business! To learn more, you can check out our Expert Marketplace.

Sir if you can have a look also.
The mobile version is causing the pain. Can you see what on mobile is making it slow?
The desktop version is fine.

Loading time of pages depend on many different factors:
Content on the page, e.g.
A. Number of elements added on the page (and heavy elements like slideshow, tabs, accordions, etc.)
B. Number of nesting levels added on the page (many elements inside each other.)
C. Media content added on the page (images, gifs, videos, etc.)
D. Custom code added on the page (whether CSS, JS,Liquid,HTML.)
E. Number of products added on the page via whether Product List or Product Details element.
Number of apps installed on the Store (that will normally install a script code on the main Theme file which applies the ‘app’ script on all pages meaning their scripts will be loaded on all pages even though if they are not used on all pages .)
It can also depends on the server where the page has been hosted.
Also it can depend on the user device/network visiting the page.
Hope this can help you solve the issue
