Why is my website still calling Twitter's JS after removing the Twitter feed?

Hi there,

We recently emded a twitter feed on the footer of our website using https://publish.twitter.com/ and it worked fine until we realized it was significantly slowing down our site, due to the large amount of images in our twitter feed posts.

Thus, we decided to remove the twitter feed from our footer by deleting the line of code from footer.liquid. It worked and the twitter feed was gone from our site and page speed was significatly increased.

However after checking page speed, we noticed our site was still calling the following JS https://syndication.twitter.com/settings and https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js. We tried very hard but still could not find anywhere in our theme’s code where its calling these 2 JS’s… We are also 90% sure its not from our Apps.

Our theme is “Warehouse - Metal” a Shopify premium theme.

Hopefully someone out here can help us out. Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

We have created an app for embedding Twitter Feeds that it optimized for Online Theme 2.0.

It won’t slow down your website and you will not be required to modify the code : everything works out of the box via Shopify Theme Editor

Feel free to give us some feedback : https://apps.shopify.com/tweefy
