Why is PayPal denying automatic payments on my eCommerce store?

In my payment settings, under PayPal, there’s this message:

Automatic payments

WarningDenied

PayPal denied our request to accept automatic payments. Customers can’t use PayPal Express Checkout to pay for subscriptions, deferred purchase options, or post-purchase offers.

I discovered this when i installed a post-purchase upsell app.

Why has this happened? How can I get automatic payments approved?

It’s very difficult to find out anything from PayPal.

Hi JonathanDun, have you had any luck getting your PayPal Express Checkout working to allow customers to use Automatic Payment ? If so, please share what you steps you had to take to get it to work.
