I placed an order from a Shopify shop. The order was never shipped, so I obviously never got what I ordered.
I tried to contact the owner. No pickup on the number and the email turned out to not even exist.
I tried to report it to Shopify, but their tool insisted I wait a certain amount of time.
Eventually the shop’s site was deleted. Now I cannot even use their tool to report, as the URL doesn’t resolve anything. Sure glad they made me wait!
There does not seem to be any way for me to actually contact Shopify. I emailed support@shopify.com and was told they don’t accept emails.
I literally can’t find any way to get help here. How is this possible? Can someone just create a Shopify and commit fraud with zero problems? Is Shopify protecting them intentionally?
Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.
If the store is no longer available, then it’s possible that the store has already been closed or shutdown. However, if you didn’t receive your within 30 days, then we’d recommend notifying your credit card provider about the transaction so they can further assist you with recovering the funds. If you have any other questions about your online order, then we’ve got some next steps to assist you here: FAQ: Your Online Order. That being said, if you’re looking to get support from our live support team, then you can do that right over here: Chat with us.
If you have any other questions on this topic, then don’t hesitate to let us know.
That is simply not an acceptable solution. I shouldn’t have to create a ticket that “I can’t sign in” to report a fraudulent store. Shopify needs to be better than this. Your complete lack of customer support is unacceptable. I should not have to go through my credit card provider for this.
How can you not confirm the stores you’re supporting have actual email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses? I always assumed Shopify hosted legitimate stores, but now it seems you’re willingly hosting fraud and profiting off it. I know you were paid as part of the store commiting fraud. Does going through my credit card provider mean you get to keep your cut? Is that why Shopify is entirely unwilling to provide fraud support? It’s baked into the business model?
I will never use a Shopify store again. This is unacceptable.
