I am in Texas. Recently Shopify has started to unilaterally change the sales tax rate for some locations in Texas which I believe is incorrect. It actually shows up in sale timeline as “tax amount was updated” where it shows the change. Anyone else experiencing this?
Yes, we’ve had issues with a number of orders where it’s ADDING tax after checkout and then charge the customer MORE than they paid to begin with which is insane. We’re refunding customers the extra amount as a courtesy but this is causing huge headaches for our customer service. Shopify please fix this!!
This is happening to us as well. Most cases, it is adjusting the sales tax amount down by $0.01 or $0.02 which is causing major issues when it syncs over to our quickbooks via the synder app. It isn’t happening on every order but looks like it first started happening on 11/14/22.
