Why is the add link option in the rich text editor not working?

Hi,

In the rich text editor of the pages section, I am following the instructions to insert a link by highlighting a word then selecting the link icon but it’s greyed out.

For example highlighting the word “coffee” and trying to select the link option on the edit bar but it is still greyed out and cannot be selected.

Is there a fix for this?

Some troubleshooting steps for odd rich text editor behahviors

  1. Save your current work and reload the page.
  2. If that doesn’t work try either in private browsing , or a different browser, or on a different device.’
    1. If #2 causes a difference you’ll want to clear the cache of your default browser.
  3. If none of the above work you’ll want to copy the html out of the rich text editor and validate it for errors
