Why is the link on my image slide not functioning properly?

In the admin section for image slide, it says and I quote “entire block will become a link when no link text or description”.

However this only works when both link text and description are empty. When I put in a description and no link text, the link on my slider does not work at all. So can Shopify fix this please?

Just so I know, is this a short coming that’s native in Shopify or has the theme I’ve chosen created the issue?
