Why is the multicolumn feature in Crave theme affecting my other pages?

Hello, hoping someone can help me figure out why when adding a Multicolumn onto one of my Main menu pages in Crave, it installs on my “About Us” page also. If I hide my page in my “How it Works” page it also hides the About Us page on my About us page… Almost like they are linked together somehow. It was working fine before I added the Multicolumn pictures into my “How it works” Page. I have tried deleting it and making sure everything is set right in my navigation menu. And it is. I can’t figure out why it is adding it to my about us page???

Thanks in advance for the help :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @JRVA

Thank you for those details! I am pretty sure I know what the issue is and I can help you with that here.

It sounds like you are editing the page template inside the theme editor, correct? The page template is a base for all pages on your store. So if you add a section to the page template it then applies to all pages that template is assigned to.

If you want a page template with a certain design for one page and not another, you will want to create its own template to use. You can do so by going into your theme editor, choosing “Pages” from the drop down menu at the top of the screen and selecting “Create Template”. You can see what I am referring to in my screenshot below:

In my screenshot you can see that under Pages I have 3 templates listed, plus the ability to make more. The default page template is most likely the one you are working on and it applies to all pages on your store. I would create a new template for the page you are working on and then assign that template to the appropriate page.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions about templates I can help with.

Hello JRVA,

It sounds like there might be an issue with how your navigation menu is set up in Crave. Have you checked to see if the “About Us” page is somehow linked to the “How it Works” page in the menu settings? Sometimes when adding new elements to a page, it can cause the menu settings to change inadvertently.

Another thing to check is whether the multicolumn element you added is set to display on all pages, including the “About Us” page. If it is, that would explain why it’s appearing there as well.

If you’ve already checked these things and still can’t figure out what’s going on, you may want to reach out to Crave’s support team for assistance. They should be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and get it resolved.

Best Regards

Olivia Devid

This makes all the sense in the world now! Thanks so much for your quick response
