Why is the same text showing on all my webshop pages?

Hello,

I have a webshop with 3 collections: sweaters, hats, dogtags.

Because my sweaters are organic, I added a text on the top to explain this.

Unfortunately this text is ALSO showing on the hats and dogtag pages.

Also, I have a page sustainability, where I added some photos and texts. This is also showing on my other pages like: shipping & returns or terms & conditions.

Can someone please explain me how to solve this? Please explain step by step like I’m a 5 year old :slightly_smiling_face:

Are you on newer or old Shopify Theme?

Easily done with code but here is how to do it with the WYSIWYG editor in Shopify:

  1. go to ONLINE STORE on left

  2. on right select the CUSTOMIZE button

  3. at the top CENTER of the page you will see a drop down and says HOME PAGE or whatever - select that

  4. select COLLECTIONS from the drop down

  5. You will see DEFAULT collection and has your 3 collections assigned to them

  6. Select CREATE TEMPLATE at bottom of this window

  7. Call the new template collection-new

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Select CREATE TEMPLATE

  1. New window opens and now you have a NEW COLLECTION template.

  2. on left under Collection you should see ADD BLOCK (select this and then select TEXT)

  3. you now have a NEW text block showing on the page

  4. Enter the text that you want to appear on the ONE COLLECTION that you want the text to appear.

  5. Select SAVE top right

  6. TOP left select the BACK ARROW LOOKING ICON

  1. go to PRODUCTS → select COLLECTIONS → select the COLLECTION that you want the text to show on

  2. on that COLLECTION you will now see on the right side under ONLINE STORE (Theme Template) the new COLLECTION-NEW you just created

  1. Select that then SAVE the collection

FIN!

You will need to REMOVE the TEXT from the DEFAULT COLLECTION.

Follow Steps 1-5 above BUT select DEFAULT COLLECTION and then see if the text is on that collection page, then just hide it or delete it and SAVE.

Once you have done this, the 2 collections that have the default collection will not show the text AND the NEW collection you created WILL have the text.

Damn I’ve been spending my whole evening trying to figure it out, looking for tutorials on Youtube, contacting Shopify Chat…

You just fixed my problem in 10 minutes.

And thank you for explaining it step by step :wink: I am completely new to all of this, so I needed that 5 year old explanation lol.
