Why is the save cart function missing in the POS app?

I can see only 2 reasons that Shopify may be doing this:

Either:

  1. Their software development team is made up of ignorant individuals who think they know what is best for users.

Or:

  1. Shopify intends to move completely away from brick and mortar POS and focus only on online sales.

Personally, I think #2 makes the most sense of the changes they are making so looking for an alternative POS system is a smart, proactive decision.
